ForumPay Integrates Crypto Payments with Shopify
ForumPay, a cryptocurrency payment gateway, has integrated its crypto-to-fiat solution with Shopify, one of the world’s largest e-commerce platforms. The integration is now available, allowing Shopify merchants to accept payments in major cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Litecoin (LTC), Tether (USDT), and USDC. Merchants receive the equivalent value in their chosen fiat currency (USD, EUR, GBP, etc.) with a guaranteed conversion rate, protecting them from crypto price volatility. The service also eliminates chargebacks, fraud risk, and PCI-DSS compliance costs, with funds settling in the merchant’s account on the next business day.
When a Shopify store enables the option, customers select crypto payment and complete the transaction via ForumPay’s secure hosted payment page. This gives merchants access to the nearly one billion cryptocurrency users without adding friction to checkout.
Joshua Tate, Co-Founder and CEO of ForumPay, stated: “Shopify powers a huge share of the world’s online stores, so bringing ForumPay to its merchants was a natural next step. Any Shopify business can now give its customers the option to pay in crypto and settle in their own currency, with the speed and security our merchants have come to rely on.”
ForumPay’s technology is wallet-agnostic and processes transactions with instant crypto-to-cash conversion, reducing exposure for merchants. The payment experience is similar to accepting other methods like credit cards or bank transfers, but aims to be simpler and more secure.
